SunNSee Blue Filter Lenses

How we combat Digital Eye-Strain

What is

Blue Light?

In specific, Blue Light is defined as the wavelengths between 400nm (Strongest) - 500nm in the visible light spectrum. For this reason, Blue Light is classified as High Energy Visible Light (HEV). HEV Blue Light can be both beneficial in natural conditions and harmful from artificial light.

The problem lies within today's increasingly digital world as we surround ourselves with blue light-emitting devices. We constantly overexpose our eyes to artificial blue light via computers, tv, phones, and tablets.

The problem lies within today's increasingly digital world as we surround ourselves with blue light-emitting devices. We constantly overexpose our eyes to artificial blue light via computers, tv, phones, and tablets.

If blue light is excessive, it can not only damage the retina through the ocular surface, but can also stimulate the brain, inhibit melatonin secretion, increase corticosteroid production, thereby directly affecting sleep quality. (1)

Affects of Blue Light

The main concern of overexposure to HEV Blue Light is damage to the retina. Blue Light passes through the cornea and lens, which causes retinal damage, macular degeneration, and digital eye-strain. If you stare at a computer screen for work or continuously look at your phone (like most of us), you may experience the effects of Digital Eye-Strain.

Digital Eye-Strain Symptoms Include:

  • Sore Itchy Eyes

  • Headaches

  • Blurred Vision

  • Dry Eyes

  • Sleep Disruption

Harmful blue light-induced effects on human eyes should not be ignored, blue light can produce different degree of damage to corneal, crystal lens and retina. (2)

SunNSee Blue Filter Lenses

Unlike other brands that offer a single top coating, our blue filter technology is embedded into a nine-layered lens.

This filters out HEV Blue Light from computers, phones, and other blue light-emitting devices, making them one of the advanced lenses on the market.

Most importantly, we do not sacrifice style and appearance - our blue light lenses are virtually transparent and do not leave behind a yellow tint.
